Companies in Liechtenstein
Companies limited by shares, limited liability companies and other corporate forms from the commercial register of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Foundations, establishments and trusts have their own directories.
Companies in the narrow sense — the Aktiengesellschaft, the GmbH and the Societas Europaea — are not Liechtenstein's largest group by number, but they are the most familiar. The Aktiengesellschaft under Art. 261 ff. PGR requires a minimum capital of CHF 50,000 and is represented by its board of directors; the GmbH under Art. 389 ff. PGR requires CHF 30,000 and is represented by its managing directors. In both, only the company's own assets are liable.
Every registered company carries a register number of the form FL-0001.234.567-8. It is stable across the entity's whole life, even when the name changes, the seat moves or the legal form is converted — which makes it the only dependable way to tell two identically named entities apart.
Each profile carries the name, legal form, seat, purpose, capital, the organs with their signing authority, and the events from the Official Gazette. Anyone looking to incorporate will find the binding requirements at the Office of Justice; this directory shows what is already on the register.

Common questions
What is the minimum capital for a Liechtenstein company?
CHF 50,000 for an Aktiengesellschaft and CHF 30,000 for a GmbH, paid up on incorporation. Fees and advisory costs come on top; the Office of Justice gives the binding figures.
How do I read a Liechtenstein register number?
The FL number takes the form FL-0001.234.567-8. It identifies the entity permanently and survives changes of name and of seat. When in doubt, search by it rather than by name.
Is this the commercial register?
No. Overit shows what was officially published, naming the source on every line. The register is kept by the Office of Justice, and only there can you get binding information and certified extracts.
Where do the events on a profile come from?
From the electronic Official Gazette. Every entry and change is announced there; the timeline on a profile is that announcement, ordered by date.
