The official, certified statement of what the register holds about an entity.
A commercial register extract is a document issued by the Office of Justice stating the current — or on request, historical — register content for an entity. It is issued against a fee and is the document banks, notaries and courts ask for.
An Overit profile page is not an extract and cannot be one. It is a compilation of what was officially published, uncertified and without any warranty of completeness; useful for orientation, not as proof.

How to order an extract
The Office of Justice in Vaduz issues them. Order through the Firmenindex or directly from the office; you will be asked for the firm name or — more reliably — the entity's register number. The extract is issued against a fee.
Distinguish the current extract, which gives today's state of the register, from the extract with historical data, which also carries deleted entries and former organs. Banks and notaries almost always want the current one; reconstructing a company's history needs the historical one.
When you need one, and when you do not
For opening an account, notarising a deed, litigating or bidding for a tender, nothing substitutes for the official document: what is asked for is proof, and proof is a question of certification, not of information.
To find out whether an entity exists, who signs for it and what has been announced about it, you do not need an extract. That is on the profile, with the source named on every line, and it costs nothing.
What this site offers instead
A profile shows the firm, legal form, seat, purpose, capital, the organs with their signing authority, any FMA authorisations, and the events from the Official Gazette in order of time. That is the content an extract certifies — without the certification.

Is an Overit profile a commercial register extract?

Can I get an extract for a struck-off company?
Yes, through the extract with historical data. Search by register number for it; with deleted entities the name alone often does not find them.
Do I need an extract to see who can sign?
Not for the information — the organs and their manner of signing are on every profile. For proof a third party must accept, yes.
