Registered seat
The municipality where an entity is legally established — not necessarily where anyone works.
The seat is a legal connecting factor: it determines jurisdiction and is entered in the commercial register. It is not the same as a business address, and on its own says nothing about where an activity is actually carried on.
Liechtenstein has eleven municipalities. More than 7,000 registered entities are seated in Vaduz — far more than the people who live there, which is what a country with a large fiduciary sector looks like.
The sources spell place names inconsistently. Localities such as Bendern, Nendeln and Schaanwald appear as a seat although they belong to the municipalities of Gamprin, Eschen and Mauren. On these pages they are counted towards their municipality, and the municipality page shows every spelling it found.
